- Dr. Mark Joseph Mohrmann graduated with honors from Binghamton University and magna cum laude from medical school at the State University of New York in Brooklyn. During medical school he received recognition from the Pathology Chairman’s Honor Society for work in anatomical dissection, served as a laboratory instructor for gross anatomy and neuropathology and was elected to the medical school honor society Alpha Omega Alpha.
Dr. Mohrmann was an orthopaedic surgery resident at the New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases. He received additional training in pediatric orthopaedic surgery at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Tampa and orthopaedic trauma at Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center. At the Hospital for Joint Diseases, Dr. Mohrmann served as staff physician for the New York Mets.
Dr. Mohrmann then received specialized training in hand and upper extremity surgery during his fellowship at the Philadelphia Hand Center and Thomas Jefferson University Medical Center, which included pediatric hand surgery at Shriner’s Hospital of Philadelphia and microvascular surgery.
Dr. Mohrmann is well trained in all aspects of upper extremity surgery and his extensive trauma experience includes upper extremity fracture care, the treatment of nerve, tendon and vascular injuries and the replantation of amputated parts. He is a board certified member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and served as official hand surgeon for the United States Ski Jump Team.
