Summary

  • I joined Universal Health Services (UHS) in 2020 as its first Chief Medical Officer for the Behavioral Health (BH) Division to provide clinical leadership with a goal of positioning UHS as the market leader in BH care. My focus involves standardizing processes that improve efficiency of care; emphasizing patient safety and suicide prevention; innovation; strengthening the relationship between UHS, professional associations, academic institutions, and local healthcare ecosystems; and enhancing the reputation of the organization through teaching, research and publication. I completed training at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and I am board-certified in both Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. I became a recognized clinical leader in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Neuropsychiatry and have been recognized as a "Top Doc" in Philadelphia Magazine.
Previously, I worked at Aetna as the Chief Medical Officer for Behavioral Health with responsibility for oversight of patient management processes, accreditation and quality management, clinical policy, and the design, development and implementation of behavioral health products and programs.
