• Dr. Mark Balles is a retired retina surgeon living in Falmouth, ME and is affiliated with Maine Medical Center and the Tufts Medical School. He received his training in Vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, and his medical degree from State University of New York Upstate Medical University. In clinical practice, he specialized in diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases, including complex retinal detachment, consultation for vision loss of unknown etiology, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular hole, macular pucker, complications of cataract surgery, retinal vein occlusion, pediatric retinal diseases and injuries, and vitreomacular traction.
