- Marilyn Escobedo, MD, is professor emeritus and former Chief of Neonatal Perinatal Medicine at University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and OU Health based in Oklahoma City, OK. She completed her medical education and Pediatric Residencey at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, followed by a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship at Vanderbilt. Her research created a non-human primate model of bronchopulmonary dysplasia which resulted in over 200 scientific articles. She also studied neonatal gut microbiome and participated in multiple ROP studies. She is well- known for her work in neonatal resucitation science and education. She has been recognized with many accolades, including the Apgar Award, the highest honor bestowed on neonatologists in the U.S.A.
