He obtained his MD magna cum laude from Karlovy University FOM in 1983, completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Stony Brook Medicine University Hospital, NY and his Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease was completed at Brown University, RI. Since 2004 he has served as an Interventional Cardiologist at Sanford USD Medical Center. His areas of experience include general cardiology, percutaneous coronary intervention, cardiac catheterisation, cardiac imaging and treatment of coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, aortic stenosis, other valvular heart disease and congestive heart failure. Since 2012 he has been Associate Program Director of Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Sanford USD School of Medicine after actively participating in its creation. He has multiple publications, participated in clinical trials, and has been recognized with several honors and awards including CMS Meaningful Use Stage 1 Certification from EpicCare Ambulatory EMR, Fellow from American College of Cardiology, Fellow from Society of Coronary Angiography and Intervention, Fellow from American College of Physicians, and CITI Program Certification for Biomedical and GCP Investigators.
