Dr. Peris-Celda specializes in complex brain and skull base tumors and other neurosurgical cranial conditions. She is devoted to offer an individualized treatment to each patient including open, minimally invasive, and endoscopic techniques in order to maximize surgical resection and achieve surgical goals preserving quality of life.
Dr. Peris-Celda was born in Valencia, Spain where she attended medical school and did neurosurgery residency in La Fe University Hospital. She moved to US to do a 2-year fellowship with Dr. AL Rhoton in microsurgical and endoscopic anatomy. She completed a second neurosurgical residency in Albany, NY and a clinical neurosurgical skull base fellowship at Mayo Clinic. She worked as staff at Albany Medical center in Albany, NY for 2 years and joined the Skull Base Neuro-oncology team in Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.
Dr. Peris-Celda's research interests focus on neurosurgical anatomy education, training and research and is the director of the Neurosurgical and Skull base Surgical Anatomy Program at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Peris Celda's neurosurgical anatomy laboratory team comprises fellows of different backgrounds, national and international, who are deeply committed to surgical education and to advance the surgical techniques towards safer, more accurate surgeries.
