- Margaret "Kenny" Offermann, MD, PhD is an Atlanta-based CEO and oncologist with extensive expertise in drug development, immunotherapy, Kaposi's sarcoma, health policy, science policy, cancer therapy, and cancer vaccines. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Chicago in 1984 and a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/ Brigham and Women's Hospital in 1987, having graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 1980 (MD) and 1981 (PhD in Biochemistry). Currently, she serves as CEO of OncoSpherix, Inc., a company developing pharmacologic treatments for advanced cancer. Her past roles include serving as Professor of Hematology and Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine, Deputy National Vice President of Research at the American Cancer Society, and Managing Partner at Salutramed Group. Dr. Offermann has published research on topics that include Kaposi's sarcoma, innate immunity, endothelial biology and targeted therapies, which have been widely cited in biomedical literature. Her honors include serving as President of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology in 2013 and being elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 2014.
