Overview of Dr. Rotta
Marcello Rotta, MD, is a double-board-certified, fellowship-trained hematologist/oncologist who helps lead the leukemia and long-term follow-up team at CBCI. He has extensive experience in the treatment of blood cancer and stem cell transplants.
Born and raised near the Alps in Torino, Italy, Dr. Rotta earned his medical degree from the University of Torino, graduating Summa Cum Laude. There, he trained in internal medicine, hematology and stem cell transplantation. Dr. Rotta’s training was furthered with a post-doctoral research fellowship At the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle and at the University of Washington; an internal medicine residency at Yale , Bridgeport Hospital program, CT; and a hematology/oncology fellowship at the James Cancer Center at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.
Dr. Rotta’s clinical research and publication began after earning his medical degree and has never stopped. He has won awards and scholarships related to this work, been involved in several international multi-centric clinical trials as well as stem cell transplantation models in clinical research.
In his free time, Dr. Rotta is an avid hiker and biker and enjoys the Colorado outdoors with his wife and their three children.
