Summary
- My journey began as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Skilled Nursing Facility shortly after high school graduation. I became a Medical Assistant working in Otolaryngology until I was accepted into nursing school. Through school I worked full-time as a Patient Care Technician on the Cardiovascular Unit here at St. George Regional. After I graduated I worked for a short period as a circulating nurse in the Operating Room before I transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. I worked through my Bachelors degree of Science in Nursing with Western Governors University and began my Masters degree of Science in Nursing with a focus of Family Nurse Practitioner.
In the Intensive Care Unit I was able to hone my skills in critical thinking as well as provide compassionate care to my patients. I was a member of the Neuro and Pediatric team and had a special skill set in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
I was honored to participate in the Intermountain with NY Covid Crisis Response team 1 working at Long Island Jewish Medical to assist with their overwhelming patient load.
I am currently a Neurohospitalist Nurse Practitioner caring for inpatient neurology patients.
I also see outpatients in the stroke clinic every other Friday.
