Summary
- As a clinician-educator in pediatric pulmonology, my professional journey has been driven by a profound commitment to improving the lives of children with rare lung diseases. In specializing in this unique and complex area of pediatric medicine, I have had the privilege of combining my clinical expertise with a passion for teaching, research, and mentorship.
In my clinical practice and through my leadership in the Rare Lung Disease program at Texas Children’s Hospital, I focus on providing personalized and compassionate care to children and their families, often navigating the uncharted territory of rare lung conditions. These challenging cases fuel my dedication to advancing diagnostic methods and their accuracy, as well as improving treatment options and advocating for patients who frequently face challenges in understanding complex diseases and having limited resources.
In my experience working as an educator, I have been fortunate enough to be involved in medical training programs since the beginning of my career. I am devoted to shaping the next generation of pediatric pulmonologists. I believe in fostering an environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and empathy. By integrating clinical research and my unique clinical experience into my teaching, I strive to inspire students, residents, and fellows to embrace the complexities of pediatric pulmonology and approach each patient with diligence and care.
My academic pursuits are deeply intertwined with my clinical interests, focusing on advancing the understanding of pediatric rare lung diseases through collaborative research. I have had the opportunity to contribute to the field through publications, clinical trials, and presentations at national and international conferences, all aimed at pushing the boundaries of what is possible in pediatric pulmonary care.
