Summary
- Dr. Manonmani Antony, MD is triple board-certified in Anesthesiology (ABA), Pain Medicine (ABA) and Interventional Pain Medicine (ABIPP) and has established herself as a staple of the community since arriving in Delaware in 2004. She completed medical school at University of Peradeniya and later finished her residency at Texas Tech University, where she was awarded the Outstanding Resident Award. Dr. Antony was trained to perform advanced pain procedures utilizing cutting-edge technology during her Pain Management Fellowship at the University of Maryland.
Dr. Antony believes it is her personal responsibility to bridge the divide in modern medical care between conservative treatment options and surgery. As such, she expertly guides her patients to long-term pain relief by purposely avoiding narcotic medicines and invasive surgery in favor of in-office procedures that decrease recovery time while promoting lasting solutions. Her success in using interventional spinal/joint procedures along with physical therapy means that alternative pain-management therapies such as these were offered as a way to supplement patients' pharmacological regimens.
She has practiced medicine in Southern Delaware for several years and is intimately familiar with the most common types of pain conditions incurred as well the limitations that prevent patients from recovering as quickly as they can. As a pain practitioner, Dr. Antony is familiar with the notion that multifaceted conditions require multifaceted solutions. She is confident there are better ways to treat pain. Dr. Antony's mission is to provide state-of the art interventional pain management techniques, in a safe and caring environment with an emphasis on cost effectiveness in order to restore a patient's physical, mental, and social well-being.
