She earned her medical degree from the University of Baghdad College of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine and fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University. She currently serves as the Genevie Teuton Professor of Medicine and the Deputy Director at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her clinical expertise includes genitourinary oncology, and she has a vast array of publications focused on prostate cancer and bladder cancers and related fields. Dr. Hussain has led several clinical trials in prostate cancer and urothelial carcinoma. She has been recognized with honors such as the Giant of Cancer Care in Genitourinary award and listed as one of America's Top Doctors for Cancer.
