He received his medical degree from University of Aleppo, Faculty of Medicine in Syria and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The State University of New York at Buffalo where he received multiple prestigious awards for excellence in Maternal- Fetal Medicine and surgery. After residency, Dr. Allaf moved to Long Island, New York where he successfully completed a three-year fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Stony Brook University and Winthrop University Hospital.
Dr. Allaf has had extensive training in high quality and cutting edge perinatal care under the direction of world leading physicians in the highest regard. Although his proficiency is widespread in the management of high risk pregnancies, prenatal diagnosis and fetal echocardiogram, he has a particular interest in obstetric ultrasound. He performs prenatal diagnosis procedures such as chorionic villus sampling (CVS), amniocentesis, and fetal blood sampling.
Dr. Allaf is currently an active member of several prestigious professional organizations including the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine, the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologist, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is certified by the Nuchal Translucency Quality Review Program (NTQR) of the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine in USA.
Dr. Allaf has published articles in well-known peer reviewed journals and presented at several regional and national conferences. His research focused on prenatal ultrasound and complications related to multifetal gestations. Dr. Allaf is also actively involved in training and supervising medical students and residents as well as fellows in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
