Summary
- Dr. Chi received her medical degree and a master’s degree in cardiopulmonary pathophysiology in China. She subsequently completed her residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine. After coming to the US in 1998, she went on to complete her US residency in Rochester General Hospital and fellowship training in sleep medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She also received a master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology (MSCE) at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Washington University, Dr. Chi practiced sleep medicine in Philadelphia, holding a faculty position at both the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Jefferson Medical College.
Areas of Clinical Interest:
Outpatient sleep medicine consultation and hospital sleep medicine.
Sleep disorders: obstructive and central sleep apnea, treatment adherence issues associated with positive airway pressure therapy, sleep related hypoventilation, obesity hypoventilation syndrome, circadian rhythm disorders, insomnia, hypersomnia, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, periodic limb movement disorder, and parasomnias.
Respiratory failure caused by neuromuscular disease, chest wall deformity, lung disease and congestive heart failure using noninvasive ventilation (NIV) delivered through a variety of ventilatory modes.
