Summary

  • I am a first year resident in Anesthesiology at the University of Kansas- Wichita. I was born and raised in Omaha, NE where I attended medical school. I am interested in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology and my interests are academic at heart. I have previously completed research in Opioid Stewardship and its relation to Health Policy which I was able to present at the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia last year and the Midwest Anesthesia Regional Conference. In regards to policy I have advocated in DC for patients with neurodevelopmental disabilities and am in the process of fulfilling the ASA requirements of the Resident Advocacy Champion Program where I will be meeting with my districts Congressman to discuss the Safe VA Care Congressional Letter. I have just formulated a QI project at my institution to improve our didactic schedule called Educational Reformation of Anesthesiology Lectures based on Adult Learning Theory. My undergraduate thesis was in biochemistry education and scientific literacy, and I hope one day to expand my skills as an educator focusing on resident and medical student education while pursuing program leadership. My previous involvements over the past 8 years have always focused on DEI where I served as my medical schools President for Student Alliance of Global Health and on my undergraduate Senate Diversity and Inclusion committee for many years. In my free time I am a rock climber, mountain biker, reader, a Dungeons and Dragons game master, and a mediocre chef- my long standing backup career choice.

I am a member of the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia and the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society.
