Overview of Dr. Ratner

Dr. Lloyd Ratner is a transplant surgeon in New York, NY and is affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center where he is the Director of Renal & Pancreatic Transplantation. Dr. Ratner is a tenured full Professor of Surgery at Columbia University. His academic interests have focused largely on access to transplantation and immunologic desensitization. He is a former president of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Organ Procurement and Transplant Network. In 1995 he performed the world's first laparoscopic live donor nephrectomy. He received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University and has been in practice 34 years. He specializes in transplantation and is experienced in minimally invasive surgery, transplant surgery, and general surgery
