- Dr. McKenzie is Vice President and Head of Clinical Development and Operations at Veloxis where she is responsible for a pipeline of therapeutics focusing on nephrology, immunology, oncology, and transplant medicine. She was previously the Chief Medical Officer at a cell therapy company focusing on Chronic Kidney Disease. Having been double boarded in Nephrology and Internal Medicine, she practiced medicine for almost two decades.
Prior to these roles, Dr. McKenzie was a leader at IQVIA for 15 years where she served in positions of progressive remit culminating as Vice President-Medical, including Global Head of Lifecycle Safety Project Leadership, Global Head of Marketed Product Safety and Medical Information, and Global Head of Medical Safety. She was accountable for architecting transformative solutions to meet clients' business needs and delivering a global portfolio spanning over a thousand projects serving hundreds of pharma and biotech companies. She was pivotal to developing IQVIA's Integrated Global Compliance offering, building cross-functional services needed to attain and maintain market authorization in partnership with pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, quality management, medical information, medical affairs, and commercial services. She directly supported multiple companies transitioning their first product to market, most notably supporting the global distribution of two leading COVID vaccines during the pandemic.
She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Duke University and completed her graduate and post-graduate medical education at Duke's School of Medicine, where she finished an Internal Medicine Residency and a Fellowship in Nephrology. While at Duke, she was named a Howard Hughes Medical Institute - National Institutes of Health Research Scholar and served as a Medical Monitor and Clinical Event Adjudicator at the Duke Clinical Research Institute.
