Summary

  • Please feel free to email me about how I can help you or your family member: Liam.Macleod@asante.org.

I am a Urologist with subspecialty fellowship training in Urologic Oncology. I have a patient-centered collaborative approach with patients. My goal is that by the end of a visit my patients understand their urologic condition well and can make an informed decision about the best treatment. My surgical practice includes open, robotic/laparoscopic, endoscopic and other minimally invasive techniques. I specialize in surgical and medical treatments for cancer of the kidneys, adrenals, bladder, prostate, testes and penis. I also treat benign urologic conditions including but not limited to kidney stones, enlarged prostate, vasectomies, erectile dysfunction, and neurogenic bladder.

A few words on my urologic cancer practice:

I have helped care for patients in several cancer center settings prior to moving to the Rogue Valley including the Stanford Cancer Institute (Palo Alto, CA), Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Seattle, WA) and Hillman Cancer Center (Pittsburgh, PA). As healthcare becomes vertically integrated, there is a growing trend towards travel for major cancer surgery. I believe patients should be able to receive top notch surgical care without having to travel far from home. Asante is a Commission on Cancer accredited comprehensive cancer center and aims to serve the Southern Oregon Community, thereby alleviating some of this travel burden, while offering a coordinated, interdisciplinary approach to treating urologic cancer. As an NCI investigator, I help coordinate and oversee our active clinical trial program in urologic cancers. We also have several cancer support groups.
