Summary

• I am a General Psychiatrist and Board Certified ABPN Adult Psychiatrist. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy.
  I have worked in many different areas of psychiatric care including
  voluntary/involuntary inpatient, forensics, medical and
  emergency department consults, skilled nursing and
  outpatient care.
  
  My treatment philosophy is to consider symptoms, medical conditions and social situation in determining whether medications are necessary. As a Physician I recognize that medications are not always the answer when one is struggling with mental wellness. It’s important to understand how life stressors and personal expectations influence brain health. I am adamant that psychotherapy, healthy food and exercise be incorporated into a recovery plan for most individuals.
  
  I am originally from Indiana and attended college in my hometown of Terre Haute. I worked pharmaceutical sales for 6 years before entering medical school. After residency I moved to Alaska and have no regrets. I am thankful for all that Alaska has given me - adventure, beautiful mountains, skiing, hiking, husband and wonderful friends.
