He practices general radiation oncology and specializes in Head and Neck, Eye, Genitourinary, Gynecological, and Central Nervous System cancers and has clinical expertise in brachytherapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosugery.
Dr. Tena has been published in numerous medical journals, including Brachytherapy, Ophthalmology, International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics and American Journal of Ophthalmology. He has presented his research at medical conferences nationally and internationally.
Dr. Tena completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD where he served as the Chief Resident and completed his internship in Internal Medicine at The Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans, LA. He received his M.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA and received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University. Prior to medical school, he worked as an Installation/Field Service Engineer for Varian Medical Systems and Elekta (formerly Philips Medical Systems).
