Summary

• Highly motivated Board Certified Physician Assistant with a decade of experience providing health care to a variety of patient populations. Special emphasis on psychiatry and psychopharmacology, including diagnostic evaluations and medication management. I am a graduate of Des Moines University, accredited by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and licensed in Iowa and Minnesota. I was peer elected to serve on the board of the Iowa Physician Assistant Society as President, Chair of the Legislative Committee and the Society’s Board of Directors.
  
  I have a passion for mental health and metabolic/lifestyle medicine. As such have dedicated my career to establishing and expanding the availability of psychiatric care in Iowa. I am an instrumental voice in the establishment and management of crisis observation centers and psychiatric urgent care units to provide stability and care management for people experiencing crisis but unable to be hospitalized. Recognized for industry knowledge and expertise, I am also National Speaker on the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder. In this role I educate my fellow clinicians on utilization of psychopharmacology, with an emphasis on antipsychotic medication.
