Summary
- I am a specialist in breast cancer surgery and the treatment of breast disease. My clinical interests include providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients with breast cancer. My practice is based primarily at Grady Memorial Hospital and Emory Decatur Hospital.
I received my MD at Emory University School of Medicine in 2012. I remained at Emory and completed my clinical residency in general surgery and a two-year research fellowship in surgical oncology, after which I completed a clinical fellowship in breast surgical oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
I have a variety of research interests. I have worked in clinical investigation and outcomes analysis of patients treated for advanced and inflammatory breast cancer. I am also interested in optimizing the treatment of breast cancer patients through improving patient education techniques and investigating appropriate de-escalation of surgical techniques to reduce morbidity while maintaining excellent outcomes in the context of multidisciplinary care. In addition, I have a passion for clinical ethics as well as identifying and improving health disparities.
She has received numerous awards for her research including the Merit Award in 2015 and 2016 from the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology as well as Best Clinical Research awards at Emory Department of Surgery Research Days in 2015 and 2017.
