I am board certified in psychiatry, addictions medicine, adolescent and young adult medicine, and forensic medicine, and I have over 32 years experience in clinical care, teaching, writing, and speaking in several areas of particular interest within the field of medicine including (1) stress, burnout, trauma, and psychological resilience, (2) assessment and intervention of the acutely suicidal individual, (3) addiction and recovery, and (4) helping individuals to find their resiliency strengths, stories, mottoes, and role models to overcome loss and adversity.
