Summary

  • Tyler Wadsworth, MD, FAMSSM, FACSM is a Family and Sports Medicine specialist with 34 years of leadership experience. He is Principal Investigator and Medical Director at Sundance Clinical Research in St Louis, part of Eximia Research. After residency in Family Medicine, he completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. He has served as team physician at high school, college, and professional levels, and authored chapters in sports medicine textbooks and scientific journals. He was inducted into the Missouri Sports Medicine Hall of Fame in 2014 and has served 2 terms on the Board of Directors of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) and is VP of the AMSSM Foundation Board of Directors. He is a Fellow of the AMSSM and the American College of Sports Medicine. He has been an invited speaker at numerous local, national, and international sports medicine conferences.

Dr Wadsworth has been involved in clinical research for nearly 20 years, initially focusing on treatments for osteoarthritis. He expanded his research efforts into vaccines, cardiovascular, and other areas. “This is how we make medicine better. Without quality clinical trials to evaluate new medications, medicine can't move forward to meet the challenges of the future. I’m passionate about working in clinical research, because it is an important way to contribute to the future of medicine.” Dr Wadsworth was PI in pivotal mRNA trials for both Pfizer and Moderna, and is one of the most experienced mRNA vaccine clinical researchers in America. "Years of vaccine research positioned us to contribute to rapid development of the vaccines that helped to ease the societal burden of COVID-19.”

Dr Wadsworth is married to his best friend Joie. When not practicing medicine, you may find Dr Wadsworth practicing bass guitar or playing a show with his rock and roll band. He also enjoys hiking, skiing, and demonstrating how golf should NOT be played.
