Summary

  • I am privileged to work daily with cancer patients with the goal of providing comfort and cure and prolonging life.

I am a 5th generation Shreveporter and have a wonderful wife and 3 kids. I attended UT Austin for 3 years before returning to Shreveport and graduating LSUS with a BS in Biology in 1989. I then attended LSU Medical School in Shreveport where as SGA President I was able to serve as an appointee of Governors Roemer and Edwards to the LSU Board of Supervisors, and then the Louisiana Board of Regents.

Between 1993-1997, a residency was completed in radiation oncology at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

After returning home in 1997, I was named Medical Director of the Willis-Knighton Radiation Oncology Department. With the support of an excellent team, our department has pioneered many advanced radiation techniques. I was privileged to be the first physician to deliver TomoTherapy Body Radiosurgery (SBRT) and the first radiation oncologist to treat a patient with Image-Guided Intensity Modulated Proton Therapy on a compact proton unit.

Our dually-accredited department is involved in numerous educational endeavors with medical students, fellows, physicists and physicians and we train visitors from around the world interested in Proton Therapy, TomoTherapy, and Brachytherapy.
