He completed his undergraduate education at University of Southern California before pursuing medical education at Ross University School of Medicine, Dominica. He then pursued residencies in Internal Medicine at Rochester General Hospital and in Anesthesiology at the University of Rochester. Dr. Ji has been serving as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical center since 2014. He practiced internal medicine at various locations in New York state - Highland hospital in Rochester and Canton-Potsdam hospital in Potsdam. After completion of anesthesiology training, his practice has morphed into mainly in the field of Anesthesiology. He works in various hospitals - Highland hospital and Strong memorial hospitals in Rochester, NY; FF Thompson hospital in Canandaiguia, NY; Noyes hospital in Dansville, NY, Geneseo surgery center in Geneseo, NY and finally Kaleida Health network (Buffalo General hospital and Oichei Children's hospital) in Buffalo, NY. He is board certified in Internal medicine (ABIM) and Anesthesiology (ABA). He has experience in all aspects of acute care hospital medicine including critical care; obstetric anesthesiology; expertise in regional anesthesiology; management of various surgeries like bariatric surgery, total joint surgery, extensive spine cases; managing diabetic neuropathy, chronic pain, interventional neuroradiology/endovascular neurosurgery, cerebrovascular disease, and spinal anesthesia. He has given multiple lectures and PBLD sessions in national anesthesiology conferences like ASA and PGA in topics like Post operative vision loss, management of patients with severe pulmonary hypertension during non-cardiac surgeries in a community settings, global warming impact of anesthetic gases, etc. Dr. Ji has also served as a Flight Surgeon at the Niagara Falls Air Force Reserve Station between 2021 and 2023.
