- Kiki Sarafoglou is a tenured Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota in the Divisions of Pediatric Endocrinology and in Genetics and Metabolism. She also holds an appointment in the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology at the College of Pharmacy. Dr. Sarafoglou specializes in the clinical research and care of rare pediatric and adult endocrine and metabolic disorders including congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), Turner syndrome, hypophosphatasia, and congenital disorders of glycosylation. Her primary CAH research examines cortisol pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamic response in developing more targeted therapies and improving monitoring. Her current research studies are supported by the Office of Orphan Products Development of the Food and Drug Administration (R01FDR0006100), NIH-NCATS (UL1TR002494), NIH-NINDS (U54NS115198), Neurocrine Biosciences, Spruce Biosciences, Crinetics Pharmaceuticals, Adrenas Therapeutics (BridgeBio), Alexion Pharmaceuticals, and BioMarin Pharmaceutical. Dr. Sarafoglou is also the editor of the textbook Pediatric Endocrinology and Inborn Errors of Metabolism, 2nd Edition, McGraw Hill, 2018.
