Summary
- I am Senior Associate Consultant at the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Mayo Clinic. I am board certified in anesthesiology, critical care, and neuro-critical care. I hold the ASA by UGRA and FDM by SCCM certificates. I am the Fellow of Critical Care, an award by the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
I worked in the Neuro, Medical, Heart & Vascular and Trauma Intensive Care Unit providing direct care and via telemedicine . My clinical experience focuses on managing ECMO, VAD, postoperative recovery, sepsis, and postoperative cognitive decline.
My research focuses on the three distinctive areas: regulation of DNA expression in survivors after critical care illnesses & anesthesia, health care operations/medical decision making processes, and medical volunteerism. I am also funded in area of post-ICU cognitive decline. am also interested in nanotechnology leading to establishing QBIMM Diagnostic™, a start-up. I am also very interested in improving existing health care models, or envisioning new health care model. In this context I am particularly interested in tele-ICU, artificial intelligence, lean design in medicine, de-implementation in the context of wearable devices and alternative models of health care delivery. I use simulation, narrative studies, and cognitive testing to discover operating problems and provide the staff with unique experiences.
My passion is providing support to future generations of medical professionals. Being a mentor is creative and fulfilling work that begins with creating a tailored plan that fits both the mentee’s and mentor’s interests, goals and passion. His past mentees work at various academic positions (Stanford, Yale), private companies (Merck), or were awarded prestigious scholarships (NSF).
