Summary
- I am an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Mount Sinai Health System, Chief of Neurosurgery at Mount Sinai St. Luke's, and Director of Spine at Mount Sinai Downtown-Union Square.
I have completed a postgraduate fellowship in Complex Spine Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio under Dr. Edward Benzel, and in Pediatric Neurosurgery at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York under Dr. Mark Souweidane. I obtained my medical degree at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Medical School in Greece. At the University of Athens, also in Greece, I earned my PhD for research related to the effects of Intrathecal Baclofen Therapy on the Central Nervous System and I completed my Neurosurgery residency. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
My clinical focus is in spine surgery, extending from endoscopic discectomies and fusions to large open spine surgeries for deformity, tumors and trauma. I am also interested in traumatic brain injuries, pediatric emergencies, peripheral nerve tumors and intrathecal baclofen pumps.
I practice at The Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai St. Luke's in Manhattan, New York. I also see patients at Mount Sinai Downtown-Union Square.
