Kevin Heacock, MD, is a psychiatrist and flight surgeon at Wright Patterson AFB, OH, with several clinical, educational, and leadership roles. Earlier in his career, he served as a Flight Surgeon on Andersen AFB, Guam, Psychiatry Chief Resident at Wright Patterson Medical Center, and Neuropsychiatry Branch Chief at the USAFSAM Aeromedical Consultation Service. Dr. Heacock has consulted for NASA and conducted psychiatric assessment interviews for individuals in the pool of top 30 Astronaut Applicants. He has presented at national and international conferences related to Aviation Mental Health and Risk Assessment for return to flying following psychiatric illness. He has a popular Substack and Podcast called The Flight Shrink on the basics of aviation mental health.
