Summary

  • Dr. Daly completed his undergraduate studies in Biochemical Sciences at Harvard College, attended medical school at the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, and completed his pediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. He then completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship and senior fellowship in Heart Failure & Transplantation at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Daly’s clinical responsibilities include care of children with heart failure, those who have undergone heart transplantation, and those who require ventricular assist devices. He rounds on the inpatient cardiology ward, performs post-transplant endomyocardial biopsies, and cares for patients in the outpatient clinic. Dr. Daly’s research interests include the role of allosensitization in outcomes after heart transplantation, the development of biomarkers for post-transplant coronary artery disease, the use of non-invasive imaging techniques to monitor for heart transplant rejection, and the use of information technology to improve the quality of clinical care. He currently works in the laboratory of Dr. David Briscoe, Director of Transplantation Research at Boston Children’s Hospital. Current projects are focused on the use of molecularly targeted contrast enhanced ultrasound and PET imaging to monitor rejection in a mouse heterotopic heart transplant model.
