Dr. Kenneth Usuki is a board certified Radiation Oncologist and Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He then went on to complete a surgical/transitional internship at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital System in Philadelphia, PA, and then residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Rochester’s Strong Memorial Hospital where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Usuki's primary research and clinical practice includes neuro-oncologic patients with primary malignant brain (glioma, ependymoma, meningioma, and schwannoma)/spine tumors, metastatic lesions to the brain/spine, and benign brain/spine lesions and applying cutting edge radiation treatments such as Stereotactic Radio Surgery (SRS), Brain Lab Cranial Elements SRS, Brain Lab Cranial Multiple Metastases, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), VMAT- volumetric-modulated arc therapy, and Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) with Robotics to the brain and spine. Dr. Usuki serves as the Director of the University of Rochester Spinal Radiosurgery program.
Dr. Usuki also specializes in skin cancers including melanoma, merkel cell, squamous cell, and basal cell.
Dr. Usuki is heavily involved in the education of residents and medical students at the University of Rochester's School of Medicine and Dentistry. He serves as the Associate Radiation Oncology Residency Director and the Radiation Oncology Medical Student Clerkship Director.
He received his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and has been in practice 13 years. He is experienced in skin cancer, stereotactic radiosurgery, and radiosurgery. He has more than 20 publications and over 500 citings.
