Summary
- Dr. Kenneth Gilbert is a psychiatrist in Champaign, IL. He received his medical degree from Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, and did part of an Internal Medicine Residency, then moved onto Psychiatry at Illinois State Psychiatric Institute (now defunct) and a final year at Presbyterian St Lukes Hospital. Shortly after finishing that training, he relocated to England where he did a fellowship in Psychiatry focused on quality of life for those with chronic illness. This was followed by a decade of working in village healthcare in a series of third world countries. He is experienced in schizophrenia, depression due to childhood trauma and neglect, and the syndrome of pain and depression. The pattern of eclectic experience continued as he took contracts in places as diverse as state prisons and programs for community living mentally impaired adults.
