Summary

  • Ken Lin, MD, PhD is a board-certified cataract and glaucoma surgeon. He graduated with Honors from Stanford University. After obtaining his medical degree and PhD in Biophysics from Harvard Medical School and MIT, Dr. Lin completed his residency and glaucoma fellowship at UC Irvine and served as the chief resident there.

    Since 2012, Dr. Lin had been actively involved in educating young ophthalmologists. He served in the Young Eye Surgeon clinical committee of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), as well as the Resident Self-Assessment Committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), taught cataract surgery courses, and served as a panelist in many national and international meetings. In addition to teaching residents and fellows, Dr. Lin also mentors undergraduate and medical students at UC Irvine and serves as the Director of Medical Education for the Department of Ophthalmology.

    Dr. Lin’s research focuses on using endoscopic laser imaging and artificial intelligence to improve patient outcomes after glaucoma surgery. Dr. Lin has authored numerous publications, book chapters and patents. In 2019, he became one of the selected few physicians to have won both the Clinician Scientist Award and the MAPS Award from the American Glaucoma Society. His other recognitions include the ASCRS Research Award, The Radiological Society of North America Research Award, and the Young Investigator Award from the Society of Vascular Medicine and Biology. He was also recently featured by Millennial Eye’s “One to Watch.”
