Summary
- I am a board certified Internist/Pediatrician and Hospice and Palliative Care physician. During 30+ years of practice, I worked in various clinical inpatient and outpatient settings. I left full-time clinical medicine December 2016.
I received a master degree in Journalism and Mass Communication in 2013. I reported for Cronkite News Service and held an editorial internship position at Virgo Publishing (now Informa LLC) January-May 2014 and wrote for two medical trade magazines and a business solution publication. I now write full-time creating original content for a federally-funded rural health information clearinghouse.
I enjoy investigative reporting and in-depth story writing. Several of my personal stories and team projects have won regional and national awards. I have an award-winning photograph. Though health, medical and science stories are my forte, I love feature writing on many other topics. I am also an experienced ghostwriter.
Pen and pencil aside, I do public speaking on rural health, medical journalism, and other miscellaneous topics.
