A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Marks-Cogan graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Maryland College Park in College Park, Maryland. She stayed in Maryland for her medical degree, which she earned with honors from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore.
Dr. Marks-Cogan completed her medical internship and residency at the McGaw Medical Center at Northwestern University in Chicago and finished her medical training in Philadelphia at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she completed a fellowship in adult and pediatric allergy, asthma, and immunology.
Now working in private practice in Southern California, Dr. Marks-Cogan aims to enhance her patients’ quality of life through skilled diagnosis, customized treatment plans, and lasting patient education. She approaches treatment by combining cutting-edge science with techniques and practices that have been proven to work time and again.
Dr. Marks-Cogan is a diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. She also enjoys membership in the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, as well as the Los Angeles Society of Allergy, Asthma, and Clinical Immunology.
Outside of her practice, Dr. Marks-Cogan is a respected researcher and lecturer. She’s authored numerous original research publications.
When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter, with whom she hikes, cooks, and builds LEGO castles.
