Summary
- I am a pediatric nurse practitioner who has specialized in neurosurgery since 2003. I absolutely love what I do in my day to day care of pediatric patients with neurological injuries, birth defects and acquired conditions. Beyond my patient care I love to educate the community on the disorders that I care for. I am Dual Board Certified in Acute and Primary Care of Pediatrics through PCNB.
I have been in pediatrics since I was 17 years old, when I was an office manager for my pediatrician. I went on to open two other new pediatric primary care offices in Hamburg, New York (suburb of Buffalo) while I was completing my BSN at D'Youville college. I then moved to Phoenix, AZ to attend graduate school and completed my MSN at ASU in 2002. During that time I worked for several home health care agency both for adults and children. Upon graduation I joined a primary care practice in pediatrics prior to subspecializing in neurosurgery in 2003. I have lectured on head shapes, head sizes, head injuries, concussion, Chiari, hydrocephalus, and craniosynostosis among other topics.
I was trained by Dr. Kim Manwaring in neurosurgery at Phoenix Children's hospital and enjoy my career, taking care of pediatric patients in the outpatient setting as well as in the operating room as a first assist, NICU, PICU and on the floor in the hospital. I have always had multiple clinics for multiple conditions. I am currently practicing at PCH as well at Valleywise Medical Center (previously known as Maricopa Medical Center) in pediatric neurosurgery. I hold clinics in Phoenix, Mesa & Scottsdale.
I currently work along side Drs.
Ruth Bristol, Jamal McClendon, Jennifer Ronecker and David Shafron and Jay Hauptman.
I have held many leadership positions at Phoenix Children's, at the AZ Board of Nursing, with the American Association of Neurosurgeons and NAPNAP. I am passionate about the care and well being of pediatric patients and their families.
