Summary

  • Hello! My name is Kathleen "Kay" Hua. I am a triple board-certified physician specializing in Adult Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and Lifestyle Medicine. I am licensed to practice in the states of NY and CA, and currently serve as an outpatient addiction psychiatrist with VA NorCal.

As a psychiatrist and lifestyle medicine physician, I encourage lifestyle changes like healthy eating, physical activity, and restorative sleep along with minimal use of medication to help people feel their best.

During my career, I have served as a consultant psychiatrist specializing in trauma-informed care for survivors of violence; an attending physician supervising clinical trainees/students; and an advocate for health equity and social justice.

My skillset is uniquely enhanced by my background as a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and additional trainings/certifications in plant-based nutrition and psychedelic therapy.

Outside of work, I love caring for animals, growing vegetables, and stargazing.
