  Dr. Kathie Brand has been practicing internal medicine for over 30 years. A native of Queens, New York, Dr. Brand chose internal medicine as she considers it to be the “backbone of medicine”. Her practice enables Dr. Brand to provide comprehensive healthcare to what she refers to as the “complete patient” which includes all aspects of their health. Dr. Brand accomplishes this by cultivating deep long-term relationships with her patients and their families. Her patients describe her as a good listener who is non-judgmental, open-minded, and an advocate for them whenever necessary. She attributes these characteristics, as well as her passion for caring for her patients, to achieving better patient outcomes.
  
  Dr. Brand is indeed passionate about her profession, striving to be always available to her patients, and taking a great deal of time caring for her patients to ensure that she provides comprehensive, compassionate medical care.
  
  Dr. Brand has been married to her husband for 40 years and they share two children. She notes that she is especially proud of her children, not for their financial success, but for the compassionate, grounded adults they have become. In her free time, Dr. Brand enjoys spending time with her family, especially visiting amusement parks with her children and grandchildren (Disney is a favorite).
