Dr. Katherine Velez is a Pediatric Endocrinologist based in Shenandoah, TX. She acquired her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. Completed her residency in Pediatrics in 2006 at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine/UCLA Medical Center and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at Baylor College of Medicine between 2010 and 2013. Currently, she works as as Faculty Pediatric Endocrinologist with the University of Texas, Houston, in affiliation at the Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital. She has been involved in clinical trials related to diabetes in children and has published a review on technology's role in pediatric diabetes. She is active in Quality Improvements project, specifically for care of children and teenagers with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
