Summary
- Dr. Katherine Kramer is originally from Philadelphia. She attended Duke University School of Medicine in Durham North Carolina and completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of California San Francisco (Fresno). She subsequently worked in private practice before being appointed to the faculty of Wayne State University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Educator.
At Wayne State, she conducted translational research in fetal lung maturity and postoperative adhesion formation under an NIH K grant. She has authored multiple publications in Obstetrics and Gynecology, medical education, family planning and has been awarded multiple patents for biomedical and surgical instruments relevant to women’s health. Clinically she trained medical students and residents on how to manage patients in clinic, how to perform surgery and how to safely deliver babies. Dr. Kramer has won numerous awards in research, teaching, humanism and clinical activities.
When she is not working, Dr. Kramer enjoys spending time exploring the city, discovering new restaurants, gardening and spending time with her husband and daughter. (katherinekramer@ gmail.com)
