• Dr Bruno Maranao, MD, PhD - Barnes Jewish Hospital/Washington University - Quality improvement Investigator• I investigated the role of ROTEM in the management of Cardiothoracic ICU patients. These post-operative patients are at particularly high bleeding risk and the ROTEM is an underutilized resource in this setting.2022 - 2023
• Dr Christiano Caldeira, MD - Largo Medical Center - Quality improvement Investigator• I monitored our outcomes within our institution particularly with the ECMO and Covid population and helped institute wound care prevention measures, nutritional support, and early tracheostomy in Covid patients.2019 - 2021
• Dr H. Osman Mohmed, MD, PhD - Largo Medical Center - Quality improvement Investigator• I investigated pre-op nutritional evaluation and our institutions approach to feeding post op patients and comparing to national data on Whipple patients. The aim of our study was to determine the role of “pre-hab” nutritional support and physical therapy in Whipple patients at our institution.2018 - 2021
• Prof. Richard Van Emmerik, PhD - University of Massachusetts - Research Assistant• To better understand the effect of fatigue on Multiple Sclerosis subjects, I studied the progression of MS by evaluating the relationships between functional postural tasks, fatigue, and gait characteristics. I compared the changes in kinematic and kinetic gait parameters amongst MS and controls.2010 - 2012
• Prof. Richard Van Emmerik, PhD - University of Massachusetts - Student Researcher• I collected and analyzed data for the MS gait project, wherein MS and control subjects walked at four distinct speeds while kinematic and kinetic data were collected using infrared cameras and a force plate. These data were used to examine changes in gait parameters between MS and control groups.2010 - 2012
• Prof. Joseph Hamill, PhD - University of Massachusetts - Research Assistant• I tested sports apparel and prototypes for FootJoy. Tests include impact, flexibility, heating, and force distribution assessments.2010 - 2012
• Dr. Rajan Dewar, MD - Harvard Medical School - Summer Researcher & Marc Sobel Scholarship Recipient• The project involved looking into mechanisms of Myelofibrosis. For this project, I conducted immunohistochemistry on archival human bone marrow material and a mouse model of myelofibrosis to help better understand the disease.2008 - 2008
• Dr Myron Spector, PhD - Veteran’s Administration Medical Center - Student Researcher• Conducted research in a tissue engineering lab. Received training in immunohistochemistry, histology and tissue sectioning. I evaluated the distribution of cells expressing actin, myosin, and lubricin in tissues around joint replacement prostheses in human subjects.2006 - 2007
