- Karin Pacheco MD, MSPH completed her undergraduate degree at Bryn Mawr College, her MD degree at the New York University School of Medicine, and training and board certification in internal medicine, allergy/immunology, and occupational/environmental medicine at the University of Colorado and National Jewish Health. She is currently professor of medicine at National Jewish Health and the University of Colorado School of Public Health. Her clinical and research interests include occupational asthma, allergies, and skin diseases, with specific expertise in exposure assessment. She works with the region 8 NIOSH office to investigate the health effects of occupational cannabis exposures in workers. She is the founder and director of the MetALLs program at National Jewish Health, which provides clinical assessment of sensitization to surgical implants, and collaborates with researchers at the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy in NIH funded investigation of the critical components of the immune response to metals.
