She completed her medical degree at the University of Toledo College of Medicine in 1979 and subsequent rotating internship, internship and residency, and a fellowship in Pediatrics and Pulmonary Disease at University of Toledo, Children's Hospital-Oakland, and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia respectively. Currently, Dr. Hardy serves as a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. She has also published numerous studies in pediatric pulmonology and allergy journals that have been extensively cited by others in her field. She has repeatedly been voted Best Doctor by her peers. She added certification as a health and wellness coach in 2024.
