Summary

  • ·Part of Neuroscience and Spine Team at SSM /Dean Health,Level II Trauma, 440-bed, not-for-profit, multi-specialty Clinic and Hospital- Department of Neurological Surgery- MD/AP team based care ( no residents)
    ·Uses innovative technology including STEALTH Navigation for Craniotomy for Cerebrovascular( Tumor, Aneurysm) Surgery, Complex Spine (TLIF),Arthroplasty, Peripheral Surgery etc
    Duties Include:
    ·Provide surgical services / FIRST ASSIST for five (5) surgeons.
    .Perform daily rounds on all assigned patients/ Participate in patient treatment planning and implementation/ Consult with MD regarding patient condition
    ·Generate documentation of ongoing medical plans and patient progress in EHR, Perform requested consultations, construction and interpretation of history and physicals
    ·Order and interpret/review diagnostic imaging studies including MRI/CT, labs, medications and therapies constructed on evidenced-based practice
    ·Work closely with consulting services, hospital case managers and nursing staff providing comprehensive patient care
    ·Establish and initiate a post-discharge plan for outpatient services / Provide continuity of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes and patient satisfaction
    ·Complete comprehensive discharge summary and medication reconciliation process
    ·Provide outpatient follow-up clinic independently and in conjunction with attending physicians
    ·Actively participate in patient correspondence and scheduling, as well as patient and family education
    ·In-service to nursing and OR staff /Serve as resource to nursing staff
