She has worked in psycho-oncology for the entirety of her career, previously directing services at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center/Hillman Cancer Center and the West Virginia University Cancer Institute before returning to her Midwest roots.

    Dr. Chilcote is active in the field of academic psycho-oncology where she serves on numerous committees and boards, as a frequent speaker, and in leadership roles with national organizations like the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and the American Psychosocial Oncology Society. She has written multiple book chapters, guidelines, and educational materials in the field. She has become increasingly interested in helping patients who have gained weight during their cancer treatment, and in 2013 became a Diplomat of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She is also dually board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.

    As an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, she has a particular interest in medical education and is active in the clinical education of trainees for multiple residencies and fellowships. She has received multiple teaching awards and is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Health Professions Education in Health Professions Education.
