Summary

• Dr. Munshi attended St. Louis University (St. Louis, MO) for his undergraduate studies and received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a special interest in comparative religion. During his undergraduate studies, he expanded the scope of his education and participated in the Global Program at the Imperial College of London. During this time, Dr. Munshi was very active in his community. He worked as a Field Organizer for U.S. Congressmen, served on the Executive Board of ISA, and was President of NR Promotions, which helped student organizations throughout the St. Louis community. Wanting to continue his passion to give back to humanity, he decided to pursue a career in medicine. He went on to study medicine and received his medical degree at The Medical University of the Americas (Nevis, West Indies). Wanting to help rebuild the New Orleans community after Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Munshi decided to complete his residency training at LSUHSC's Family Medicine program in Kenner, LA. During his training, he received the Resident Teacher Award (2016) as well as the Research and Scholarly Activity Award (2016). Dr. Munshi's special interests include primary care, preventative medicine, and urgent care. Specialties and procedures provided by this physician include joint injections (knee, shoulder, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, and trigger point) incision and drainage, as well as mental health services.
