Summary
- I am the Director of Research for the Cancer Institute at Prisma Health in Greenville, SC. For over 35 years, my nursing career has centered around the care of oncology patients. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Science degree from Clemson University and am a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. I received a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Chatham University. My research oversight principally includes our institution’s National Cancer Institute Clinical Oncology Research Program (NCORP), the Phase I Clinical Research Unit and Biorepository Services, the Center for Integrative Oncology and Survivorship (CIOS), Oncology Research related to Nursing and Allied Health, and the Center for Cancer Prevention and Wellness. In my role, I provide overall leadership and direction for the research staff and serves as a mentor in guiding young investigators of the Cancer Institute. In addition, I collaborate with research project leads to assist with study design and implementation, regulatory processes, contracts, and budgets, and serve as a resource for grant writing and extramural funding opportunities.
