Summary
- I am a retired Psychiatrist, licensed to practice medicine in the state of California. At this time I am no longer accepting new patients, as my office closed 08-2022. I have enjoyed working in my own private practice office in Santa Ana and then in Tustin, since 1992.
This was my introduction:
The most common problems I help people deal with are Depression and Anxiety. There are many kinds of depression: situational, medication-induced, secondary from medical causes, bipolar, drug-induced, and much more! I enjoy helping people understand the underlying causes and then we focus on how to get better. I am somewhat unique as a physician who not only prescribes medications, but enjoys doing psychotherapy. I want to help each person re-discover his or her dreams and follow them, without the burden of psychiatric illness dragging them down! Together we can take steps toward health, one day at a time. I tend to be practical and goal-oriented. I am with you in your struggles, but it's you that has to do the day to day work of making life changes. This involves learning new ways of acting or thinking, or possibly trying a medicine to help you control your symptoms. After working with many different people for over 25 years, I have developed the "motto" listed above.
Balance means: Life is full of rich and inspiring activities and connections, and a healthy person tries to find and pursue them in his or her life.
Boundaries means: We all have limits. You can't please everyone all of the time, nor will everyone like all that you do. When you are selective in what you do, you will also have energy to enjoy life's rewards and contribute to the greater good!
Belonging means We all need friends, relatives and community involvement to feel connected in this world. You may need to review healthy communication methods or interpersonal skills to help you get back in your social circles. Anxiety management can also help with this.
