Summary

I was an HIV counselor and public health advocate for a community-based organization in South Florida providing HIV prevention services and linkage to treatment for Latino LGBTQ youth. I am currently a fourth year medical student at the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, FL. I graduated from FIU with a Master of Public Health with a concentration on health promotion and disease prevention. My focus in public health was in developing HIV behavioral interventions and transgender health. I plan to pursue a medical career in family medicine and public health health. As a medical student, I continue to be actively involved in promoting LGBTQ+ health education and helping develop learning tools for medical student, faculty, and the community.
